Bulletin. Term 2 Week 4, Friday 1st February 2019

Posted 1/2/2019

Hello everyone and welcome to our weekly bulletin.

It has been a very enjoyable week in school and I have taken particular pride from the positive comments we have received about the children, their work, the calm and purposeful atmosphere from visitors, including the HeadTeacher and Deputy HeadTeacher from Holy Family Catholic School and our North Yorkshire School Improvement Advisers.

Homework: You said and we listened!

Following on from our recent parental survey re homework I am pleased to share with you the changes we have made to our current homework arrangements moving forward. Please see the attachment. This has been discussed in detail with staff, and shared and ratified by governors.

The feedback was extremely informative and useful. Thank you to those members of the school community who took the time to provide this valuable feedback. I feel this working relationship is so important and sincerely thank you for buying into what we do – we have taken on board the ideas and feedback to improve our practise. For example, we have listened to the fact that the vast majority of parents are happy that technology can be used as part of the approach to homework tasks, and that the popular menu style option has now become standard across school.

Please read this short document for our updated approach and expectations and arrangements

Please wrap up warm and keep safe in this cold weather!

Have a safe and happy weekend. Thank you for your continued interest and support.

Best wishes

Jon Watson
