Bulletin Term 1 Week 6 – Friday 12th October 2018

Posted 12/10/2018

Welcome to our weekly bulletin. It must be officially autumn as we are sending home conkers today –and ask you to thread them ready for our traditional Carlton Competition.  Please see additional information attached, with regards to the standard and Carlton Conker rules!

I have really enjoyed spending time with the children of Oak class (Mrs Smith’s reception class) this week getting to know them more and seeing the super things they are learning and enjoying. I am proud of their positive developing attitudes to learning, and very much enjoyed participating with them in their ‘dough disco’!

Speaking of Oak class, we have arranged for parents/family members of Mrs Smith’s class to come into school to share a hot school meal with their children. This is booked in for 19th November 2018. Please make sure you let us know by Thursday 18th October if you would like to attend!

Donny Dog visited school On Tuesday as part of links with Doncaster Rovers – watch out for the photo in the Goole and Selby times. He enjoyed being in goal at lunchtime!

Bingo night – a reminder that next Friday on the 19th October we are holding a bingo night to raise funds that will go to reducing the costs of attending the whole school pantomime trip in December. It would be great if you could join us! Doors open at 6.30 and the first game starts at 7.00pm.

Open days: If you know someone who has a child due to start reception next September please encourage them to get in touch to arrange to attend one of our scheduled open days – we would love to show them around our school. Similarly, if you know someone moving into the area or who lives close by, please encourage them get in touch with us.

Reminder re punctuality!  Please support a positive start to the day for the children by being on time in the morning. In the last week or two, this has dropped a little and when children are late it can sometimes make the start of the day more challenging for them. Doors open every day 8.50am. Your support in helping with this is much appreciated.

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards

Jon Watson
