Weekly Bulletin -  Term1, Week 14, Friday 7th Dec 2018

It seems like Fridays come around way too quickly to me; I can’t quite believe how the weeks are flying by and we are now well into December, we only have two weeks left at school before the Christmas break. Those two weeks will be action packed and rammed full of lovely things for all to enjoy.

This week has been another busy week in school too, with lots going on, such as Assessment week, KS1 rehearsals, Christmas fayre, Elm class trip to name just a few.

I need to start with a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our school Christmas Fayre this week. It was another highly successful Friends of Carlton run event, well supported by the school community. Although we were a little down on number from last year, it was a bustling and happy atmosphere, with families enjoying the year 6 stalls, refreshments, and stalls run externally. The raffle was particularly popular with a range of brilliant prizes.

I am delighted to announce, with moneys still being counted we have made at least £650 profit. This is amazing. All money will be spent by Friends of school enhancing the experiences for the children of our school. THANK YOU everyone!

A huge thank you to Mrs Pemberton, Mrs Pierce and all of the friend team for their time and effort in organising and facilitating such an event.  Thanks too to the external stall holders, our amazing year 6 pupils/entrepreneurs and the school choir for entertainment.

I would once again like to thank my staff team for doing the little extra’s, like decorating the school on Monday ready for the children and for the Christmas fayre.

We have a number of absences this week (both pupils and staff). Unfortunately, it is that time of year when lots of people have colds, flu etc. We look forward to welcoming Mrs Whisker back next week.

Elm class had a brilliant morning at Kings’ church Selby on Thursday. Beech class and the Year 4 pupils from Pine class have their trip next week to look forward to.
