Bulletin, Term 1, Week 13: Friday 30th November 2018

Posted 30/11/2018

Welcome to this week’s short Bulletin. It has been a dark and cold week outside, but a warm and successful week inside of school.

December is always a magical time in school and we look forward to the start of ‘The Festivities’ and have our Christmas fare on Tuesday 4th December – we hope to see you all there! Our KS1 children are well underway with their ‘Inn Spectors’ Nativity performance rehearsal

It is impossible for me not to mention that today a staff group will represent our School team and wider school community and we will remember our much loved friend, colleague and team member Andrea Thompson. We send continued sympathy and love to her family and friends. A huge thank you to the extra special helpers who were in school today to make this happen, without an adverse impact on the children. A true team and community togetherness!

In school we are also having a memorable day today, with all children planting a sapling tree in our grounds as part of our extended curriculum. Led by Mr Brooks and Mrs Gay, we have organised to plant 160 small trees and 6 ‘class trees’. More to follow on this. Thank you for supporting this by providing suitable clothing for the children today.

Please note that this is the last week of school clubs (including Doncaster Rovers).  There are no more clubs this term/in December after today (Friday 30th November)

Charity and fundraising: THANK YOU!

Three special people deserve special thanks. Over the past two weeks, individually three of our pupils have all done some form of voluntary fundraising.

  • Mya (Year 6), with the help from her Grandma, had a super and successful cake sale on Wednesday raising over £100. This super achievement is yet another fundraising event that benefits every pupil in school with all funds raised going towards the cost of the whole school panto trip! Thank you to everyone who supported this and very well done Mya and Grandma!
  • Sophie (Year 5) decided very generously to have a ‘Slime Sale’. She did this independently and raised a great sum of £20 profit by selling her home made slime.  All monies raised have been donated to the Wakefield Hospice. Very well done Sophie!
  • As I also mentioned in last week’s celebration assembly Sian (Year 6) also has been a super fundraiser by taking part in a sponsored sleep over, raising money for the homeless.   Sian participated in the Advent Sleep Out Challenge 2018 in Aid of Homelessness at Snaith Priory on Friday 16th November. She has raised £101 towards the charity! Extremely well done Sian!

We are proud of all of our expert fundraisers!

Kind regards
