Bulletin – 6th July, Term 3 week 11

Posted 6/7/2018

With World Cup fever and beautiful sunshine there is certainly a really strong summer feel to life in school. It’s hard for me to comprehend just how fast this term has passed and that we are already into July, facing only two more school weeks before the summer break.

Staffing update:

I informed you last week Miss Stafford will be leaving Carlton in Snaith CPS at the end of this term.  I am delighted to say we have had a large and strong field of applicants for the role and I will be interviewing and appointing next week. I will of course keep you posted.

Mrs Hissett has begun her maternity leave this week, in preparation for her new arrival. On behalf of the whole team I would like to wish her all the best for the next few weeks (and beyond) we will keep you updated when we have the exciting news!

Carlton Fete:

It was great to hear from the children what a great event last weekend’s Carlton fete was. I’ve seen photos and have had feedback that Lexie L (Y6) did a super job as fete queen. Congratulations to Elisabeth N for her cake baking skills. More info to follow in our final celebration newsletter at the end of term.

Highlights include:

·         In school rehearsals have been well underway for the Y5 and Y6 summer show

·         Year 6 pupils enjoyed 2 days’ transition at the Snaith school – next week those moving to Holy Family will have their transition day.

Next week:

·         Monday : Pluto (reception) class trip

·         Wednesday and Thursday – school performance – Wednesday 2pm and 5pm, Thursday 5.30pm

·         Move up morning 1 - Friday am in school

·         Collaboration Corner official opening – Friday pm – in school event

·         Summer Fayre – Sunday 15th from 12.00pm-3.00pm

·         We welcomed the Magical maths company into assembly this week. We are offering children the option to sign up for this club (N.B, this club has a cost) for the next school year.

·         Please note (other than Doncaster Rovers on Tuesdays) there are no more school clubs this term.

I’m looking forward to a successful week next week (and hopefully a successful weekend for a certain football team too!).

Kind regards

Jon Watson
